We spend a great deal of our time in our cars, and for many of us our whole working day is in our vehicles travelling the length and breadth of the country. It makes sense that your stereo system should be the best that it can be, and you should be able to enjoy your favourite music at any time of the day or night. Unfortunately, many vehicles come with a sound system that leaves a lot to be desired, and so you’re going to have to put your hand in your pocket to get the stereo system that you have always wanted. Some people prefer a more bass sound and they like to install subwoofers for that. Others enjoy surround sound all around the vehicle and it’s like they are driving in a discotheque.

Whatever your preferences, you should consider a Pioneer head unit to start with. Once you have that, you can begin to make other additions to your sound system to get the sound that you require. The following are just some tips to allow you to create a sound system that you can be proud of.

  • Get the best speakers – The first thing that you need to do is to replace those factory installed speakers with something with a lot more give. It is important that you do your homework with regard to speakers and make sure that you purchase premium speakers that use much better quality material to produce a better sound. You can buy your speakers in pairs and fit two at the front of your car and two at the back. It might be a good idea to get yourself a car subwoofer as well. If you have recently retired, then something that should be at the top of your list of retirement tips, should be to get a new sound system for your car.
  • Upgrade the head unit – As mentioned briefly before, you should start with the right head unit because this is the one thing that forms the very centre of your whole car stereo system. Once you’ve done that you might want to add an amplifier to add some more power. Many people enjoy a bass sound and for that you’re going to require a subwoofer. If you have a little bit more money to spend, then you really should go for a mix of amplifier and different speaker level inputs. Many people carry smart phones nowadays and it is their wish to play the music from their phone into the stereo system. They can use Bluetooth for this, but sometimes the audio quality is not so good. Don’t jump to conclusions and assume that the problem lies with your audio system, it might be that the sound settings on your phone need to be adjusted and reset. You might consider not playing compressed music files from your memory stick as these don’t provide the best sound quality.
